Participating In New Project - Journal of Stitchery

Hello Everyone,

Can you believe it is already December??  Where did 2021 go, for real?!?!

The new year is right around the corner, and I am planning to participate in a new project being hosted by Rachel and Sara of Roxy’s Creations.  You can find them on YouTube and Instagram.  This project is called the Journal of Stitchery.  Rachel, Sara, and their Mother all love sewing and slow stitch and embroidery.  This project will end with a journal of slow stitched and embroidered pages.  What fun will this be?!  I am excited to participate.

One of the first tasks to do was picking a book that will be the actual journal for the pages.

I have chosen this gorgeous antique Victorian photo album.  It is stunning.

I bought this album about a year ago at an estate sale, I just fell in love with it.  I have been trying to figure out what to do with it since it is in pretty rough shape on the inside.  I am hoping it will work out lovely for this project.

Rachel and Sara put together some videos on YouTube to show how to perform some basic stitches.  They suggested making a sampler of the stitches as you practice them.  I loved doing this!  Below is a picture of my sampler.

My favorite stitches are the Whipping Running Stitch and the French Knots

I believe this is going to be a truly fun and amazing project to participate in.  If you love sewing, or just want to learn to sew, please consider joining in on this adventure.  You can find Rachel and Sara on YouTube under Roxy's Creations, as well as on Instagram.  You can also find them through the hashtag #roxysjournalofstitchery and #journalofstitchery .

If I do not talk to you again before the 25th, I hope each and everyone of you have an amazingly blessed Christmas!

If you would like to support my small business, please check out the links to my Etsy shop and Buy Me A Coffee.  I sell handmade junk journals, as well as tassels and ephemera for journals.  I also create scripture digitals and have a very large selection of vintage jewelry for sale.

Thanks and God Bless,
Tonya Lea
