Trying to Finish the December DearJulieJulie Junk Journal Challenge

 Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all doing amazing and having a very blessed Christmas.

I have been crafting quite a bit.  I am about 80% finished with a December Junk Journal Challenge I am participating in for DearJulieJulie.  Julie has challenges every month and you can find her on YouTube and Facebook.  All of her monthly challenges result in you completing at least one junk journal, sometimes multiple.

I have completed my journal, it is now listed in my Etsy shop for sale.  It is a grungy fairy journal that I just loved working on.  It has some great colors, textures, and mixed media.

My completed Grungy Fairy Junk Journal.  There is a completed flip through video on my YT channel (Tonya Lea), and it is also available for sale in my Etsy shop.

I am now trying to complete the remaining items in the challenge.  I have worked on cards, envelopes, fabric, book pages, and so much more to finish bases for journal embellishments.

We are having to make twelve bases of each item Julie gave us to work with.  There were six different items.  Once we have prepared the twelve bases of each item, we then must use at least three elements to embellish the base.  This can range from distress inks, stickers, stamps, trims, paint, lace, etc.  I have completed my journal and all the bases for 4 of the six items.  I am finishing up the bases for my last two items.

These bases are all constructed from "recycled" items, which was one of the six items we had to use.  I made tags, bellybands, pockets, etc.

Another one of the six items we were to use to make twelve bases was fabric, or "Material".  I had a tremendous amount of fun with this one while getting to practice some of my new slow stitches and embroidery.

One of my bases for "material" items.  I love the colors in this piece.  This was also my first ever attempt at embroidering words.

One last material piece and I will wrap this up.  The piece below is going to be used in a project for next year.  I am going to use it for inspiration for setting some goals and looking forward to a new year.

Completed "material" base that I slow stitched and embroidered.  Inspired from scripture.  "Bloom Where You Are Planted" will be my focus for the new year, 2022.

I have also made lots of yo-yo's for my journal of stitchery project for next year.  I have also listed a few new vintage jewelry items in my Etsy shop.  Please check it out when you have a chance.

I hope everyone is having a very blessed holiday season.  I pray the new year brings all of us peace, joy, and freedom through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!

Until next time, God Bless!

Tonya
